I’ll keep this list short and sweet. If you’re headed to Caye Caulker, Belize chances are you are looking to go slow and enjoy a few rum punches with the locals. Well, you’re in luck. There are plenty of bars where you can pass the day away. Here are just a few of the best bars in Caye Caulker – and my favorite spots on the north and south island to relax in Belizean paradise.

The best bars in Caye Caulker
Sip N’ Dip Beach Bar
First up, Sip N’Dip. Sip N’ Dip turned out to be my favorite day drinking bar on the south island of Caye Caulker. They have a large covered bar protected from the sun and a dock with plenty more seating. But my favorite part was the tables and swings directly in the water.
Most people flock over to Lazy Lizard, but there the prices are higher. Definitely give Sip N’ Dip a try. They have a great happy hour every day with 2 for 1 specials on local rum and other drinks. We went heavy on the rum punch… maybe that’s why I liked this bar so much?
Sip N’ Dip accepts credit cards and you can start a tab. Service available directly in the water. Yes, this is paradise.
Bliss Beach Lounge and Beach Bar
Bliss Beach Lounge and Beach Bar is located on the north island of Caye Caulker. It’s totally different from all the other bars on the island. They just opened in February 2024 and already have rave reviews all around. This is a unique hideaway. White sand beaches, turquoise water, metropolitan cocktails, friendly French hosts and delicious cheese plates. Paradise.
I wrote an article all about Bliss Beach Lounge and Beach Bar. If you want to know how to get there and escape to paradise yourself, here you go.
Salty’s Caye Caulker
Next, Salty’s. We headed to Salty’s after dinner one evening for one last drink. We had heard they have fun events like live music, trivia and poker night from some other tourists and locals we had met. And that they did. Definitely check the schedule or pop in to see what’s on. They also have a full menu if you want to eat as well. Plus a pretty great view overlooking the sea from the upper bar.
The Lazy Lizard
As I said, everyone flocks to The Lazy Lizard in Caye Caulker to swim and see the famous split. It’s a cool spot to people watch and take a dip. We enjoyed some cocktails at Lazy Lizard but unfortunately never got to try their famous ceviche. They stop serving food quite early in the day, so go for lunch if you’d like to try it.
And, if you’re a bit of a dare devil there’s also a platform you can jump into the water from. They also have monthly full moon parties and other events year-round. Check their website for details.
The Pelican Sunset Bar
Last up, Pelican Sunset Bar. I also listed the Pelican Sunset Bar on my list of best restaurants in Caye Caulker. Indeed, it is both. This is the perfect place to go for an early happy hour and catch the sunset. The bar faces due west and has a pretty unobstructed view of the sunset. We got lucky and secured the perfect table on the dock. Arrive early, Pelican Sunset Bar is popular with local snowbirds, fishermen and tourists.
If you like, stay for dinner. They had my favorite ceviche on the island.
